How much of a time commitment is joing as an advisor to the board?Typical commitment would be 6, 1 to 1.5 hour meetings per year plus any outside committee work. Committee options include the grounds and landscaping committee, and insurance information collector. If I see damage to condo association property what should I do?If you notice any damage to the condo association property, follow these steps to ensure it is properly addressed: Document the damage: Take photographs or videos of the damaged area to keep a record of its condition. This will help the association assess the situation and determine the appropriate course of action. Report the damage: Reach out to your condo association's management team as soon as possible, either through email, phone call, or an online portal. Provide them with a detailed description of the damage and its location. Share the documentation: Send the photos or videos you've taken to the condo association management, which will help them better understand the extent of the damage. Await further instructions: Allow the condo association to assess the situation, contact any necessary professionals, and coordinate the repairs or maintenance work needed. It's essential to let the condo association handle repairs and maintenance to ensure that any work is performed by licensed professionals, adheres to applicable regulations, and preserves the integrity of the property.

There is water coming through my ceiling. What should I do?If you notice water coming through your ceiling, here are some good steps to take to address the issue: Stop the leak: Lower units - if the leak is coming through the ceiling, notify your neighbor upstairs to shut off the water supply to the leaking appliance or source. In case of emergencies, locate and turn off the main water valve located in Unit A or B. Reach out to a licensed plumber who can help diagnose the problem, identify the source of the leak, and recommend the best course of action for repairs. Document the damage: Take photographs or videos of the affected area, including the visible water damage to the ceiling and any personal belongings impacted by the leak. Reach out to your insurance company: Report the incident to your insurance provider as soon as possible, and inquire about filing a claim. They can guide you through the claims process and provide information about any potential coverage. Phone numbers to keep handy: 1) Plummer Emergency Number, 2) Upper neighbor, and 3) Your Unit A or B neighbor for water shut off.
